Research Guidelines
Last updated: 12 September 2026
These high-level guidelines support safe, traceable and lawful handling of research-use-only materials. They are not a substitute for product-specific documentation, a risk assessment or professional safety advice.
1. Before ordering
Confirm that the material is appropriate for your lawful research purpose, that you have the facilities and competence to receive and handle it, and that you understand any local import, storage and disposal requirements.
2. On receipt
- Check the outer package for visible damage before use.
- Confirm the product name, pack format, batch or lot reference and quantity against your order.
- Keep labels, supporting documentation and order records together.
- Contact support promptly if an item appears damaged, incorrect or incomplete.
3. Storage and traceability
Follow the product label and available documentation. Keep materials securely stored, clearly identified and accessible only to authorised personnel. Maintain records needed to trace receipt, storage, use and disposal within your own system.
4. Handling and disposal
Carry out a proportionate risk assessment before handling. Use suitable personal protective equipment, controls and waste routes for the material and the work being performed. Do not use this page as a substitute for a safety data sheet or laboratory procedures.
5. Research boundary
Materials supplied for research use only must not be used for human or veterinary administration, clinical, therapeutic, diagnostic, food, cosmetic or consumer use. We do not provide medical, dosage or administration advice.
